A look at the BESL finalists

BESL Pro Season 2 finals are going to kick off on the 21st of October at Saku Suurhall arena in Tallinn, Estonia. The event is hosted as part of the HyperTown Tallinn Urban & eSports festival. Tickets can be found here!

The culmination of €3,500 League Of Legends competition is going to feature the four best teams from the online stage. These teams are going to be placed in a single elimination bracket, with all the games being played as a best-of-three series. The winner of the event is not only going to be crowned as the best team in Baltic states, but also will be taking home the beautiful BESL Pro Season 2 champions trophy and €1,000 from prize pool.

BESL second season started with a lot of upsets and no clear contenders for the top 4 spots of the standings, but as the time went and teams started to better prepare for the upcoming matches, standings started to make sense. As dominant as always, Lithuanians overtook standings this time around securing top 3 places for them. Leaving behind them Latvian Datorpasaule as 4th team to qualify for finals. Unfortunately first seed team Iron Wolves refused to participate in LAN finals, therefore got disqualified from the tournament resulting in inviting some of the teams lower in the standings. Team Coinflip Gaming were ready to jump right back into the competition and try their luck in finals. Therefore these teams will represent their home countries and organisations in the HyperTown Tallinn - Žalgiris, Turing eSports, Datorpasaule and Team Coinflip Gaming.

Žalgiris (ZAL)

One of last season semifinalists and clearly a strong community as even after their loss in last season semifinals against Falcon eSports they made almost no roster changes with the exception of Eckas leaving the team to join another BESL team. Their teamwork and great meta read made Žalgiris very dominant in the regular season finishing second with a one point deficit comparing to Iron Wolves. Closer to the finals Eckas came back to the roster as a substitute jungler to reunite with his former teammates and help them thrive this time.

Turing eSports (TS)

After the dominating first season ChosenOne as a team leader kept their spot in the league for the second season and built the roster around him with some brand new faces for BESL. They were considered as a clear favourites though they dropped some game here and therefore proving they are not unbeatable. Closer to the end of the season Turing eSports had some massive roster changes and we were glad to see an epic comeback of Warden and Optimas who were also part of the dominant season 1 Atlantis Baltics roster completing the roster with an addition of nofas.

Datorpasaule (DTP)

Datorpasaule teams story goes way back to the first BESL season when their team was called “Imantas 5”. Latvians started the season with the old name, but then they got themselves new sponsors and therefore rebranded into Datorpasaule. Imantas 5 actually was the team that got knocked out of the competition in the semifinal against Atlantis Baltics during HyperTown Riga and they seem confident to go all the way to the finals this time around. Datorpasaule acquired a new member mata - a leader from last season “Team Solo mata” in hopes that Lithuanian teams will respect his long time experience fighting them, unfortunately though mata couldn't attend finals and Arlite will be replacing him in Tallinn.

Team Coinflip Gaming (TCG)

In a surprising fashion Team Coinflip Gaming also got into the lan finals after Iron Wolves refused to come. There isn’t many hopes for the Latvians as they are clear underdogs in this tournament. TCG got placed 6th in the regular season standings therefore they would have to pull off a miracle to reach the grand final. TCG made no roster changes for the finals and will be participating with their classic 6 man roster in hopes that their teamplay will be the deciding factor in the potential upset.

Stay tuned as even though the regular season has come to an end, our news section is still going to be filled with information on final matchups and schedules to let you guys know what to expect from the matches happening at HyperTown Tallinn Urban & eSports festival!
